ID-Nova vs Mini-Nova: Size Comparison
The following reviews the geometrical size difference between the ID-Nova and Mini-Nova HVOF guns. Schematics are provided for two different Elbows for each gun. The Standard Elbow provides a higher deposition efficiency compared with the High Angle Elbow. The Standard Elbow is preferred when the space is available. See Table 1 for comparison.
ID-Nova HVOF Gun
The ID-Nova gun comes with two Elbows, the Standard and High Angle. The Standard Elbow allows ID-Nova to spray inner diameters of 4.5” (114.3 mm) with approximately 1.08” (27.5 mm) spray distance, see Figure 1. With the High Angle Elbow, the spray distance increases, allowing for better particle heating, see Figure 2. Both configurations provide for high quality coatings.
Mini-Nova HVOF Gun
The Mini-Nova gun comes with two Elbows, the Standard and High Angle. The Standard Elbow allows ID-Nova to spray inner diameters of 3.0” (76.2 mm) with approximately 1.24” (31.4 mm) spray distance, see Figure 3. With the High Angle Elbow, the spray distance increases, allowing for better particle heating, see Figure 4. Both configurations provide for high quality coatings.
